Some homes are worth waiting for. Built in 1893, this Queen Anne Victorian captured its owners’ hearts years before they could call it theirs. When it returned to the market, they asked Emergent to walk through it first. They already loved the house. They just needed to know what it would take to bring it back to life.
The answer was a nearly whole-home restoration: new electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, a sewer line replacement, and repairs to a water-damaged staircase. Original trim discovered in the attic was carefully matched to its former place, with custom-milled replacements where needed.
Every decision balanced modern function with historic character, from inset cabinetry and period-appropriate finishes to a vintage island sourced near Pittsburgh and reworked in our shop. Historic preservation approvals added to planning and helped pave the way for a thoughtful build.
“The house has been around for 133 years,” the owners shared, “and our goal is to make it last for 133 more.”
Today, that vision is a reality. “She’s stunning. She’s exactly what we wanted. She’s our pride and joy.”
